It Must Be Love

“It Must Be Love”

This new public service announcement has been created by professional film maker, Mark Meyers, to increase public awareness and understanding of hospice. NHPCO and National Hospice Foundation have worked with Mr. Meyers on this project which has been a labor of love on his part. Caring Connections serves as the source of further information on the PSA with the national tag at the end that references NHPCO and www.itmustbelove.org as a place to learn more about hospice.

Through the generosity of Mr. Meyers, providers and coalitions may use this PSA in a variety of ways including in-house use, community education events, broadcast on television and cable stations, and playing before previews in movie theaters . NHPCO’s Caring Connections and NHF encourage all those interested in expanding public awareness of hospice to reach out to local broadcasters and ask that they play this public service announcement.

Use within your organization: Download by individuals in PC or MAC compatible format and use in computer-based presentations;.

Have broadcasters download the PSA: TV or cable stations or other broadcasters may download the PSA in a high resolution electronic format that can be aired on TV or cable stations. This option is only for broadcasters and not for use by individuals or hospices.

Download a page of information to give to local TV and cable stations.

Distribute copies of the PSA to local broadcasters: NHPCO is making arrangements for you to purchase broadcast quality tapes (Beta –SP or mini-DV) at low cost from Marketplace that you can distribute to local broadcasters. These tapes may have the national tag at the end or they may be customized to have your organization or coalition’s logo and tag (usually your URL) at the end of the PSA.

Contact local movie theaters: Many movie theaters across the country play short videos and film messages prior to the previews that are shown before the feature film.

The entire hospice community will benefit from the wide spread broadcast of this PSA. Whether organizations get local TV or cable stations to download the electronic file or whether they purchase tapes to distribute, getting this message out to the public will make a difference in the experience of any family who learned about hospice from this PSA.
